GEM v. TTM
In November of last year, LWN covered the TTM memory manager
for graphics processors. Since then, TTM has remained outside of the
kernel - as have any drivers which make use of it. Now a competitor to TTM
has emerged, and the situation has become more complicated. This article
(from this week's Kernel Page, subscribers only) looks at the new GEM
subsystem and the future of memory management for 3D graphics.
