Apple posts $1.58 billion quarterly profit as shares skid
Apple earned a profit of $1.58 billion on revenue of $9.6 billion for its fiscal first-quarter ending December 29, the company announced Tuesday. During the holiday quarter, Apple sold 2.319 million Macs, 22.1 million iPods, and 2.315 million iPhones.
