Epson Stylus Pro 9000 with Os X 10.6.2?

I am the sole creative and IT person for a small nonprofit. We have the opportunity to get an Epson Stylus Pro 9000 printer with inks for free. I have compatibility issues questions. I know that the 9000 is discontinued but as we are outsourcing all large format printing (larger than 11x17) I wanted to know if I can make it work in my situation. We are looking to use it mainly for short term posters and signs.

We are a PC office but I have a standalone design workstation that this would attach to. My design work is done on a:
2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro w/ 20" external Apple Display
4 GB 1067 Mhz DDr3 memory
Mac OS X version 10.6.2

I know that a native driver isn't available but wanted to know if there was a work around that wasn't too expensive. Any one have any experience or recommendations for further help?

I am a new-to-Apple person as of December so I am unfamiliar with figuring out the issues.
