Reader momoses' desktop is the answer to an often-requested customization—turning his Mac desktop into a lookalike for the computer display in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The desktop is a combination of:

• GeekTool for system stats.
• Weather is added via Lynx and GeekTool.
• icalBuddy for calendar events.
• Bowtie for controlling and displaying iTunes information.
